1. Adding New Audio and Software Instrument Tracks
a. To add a new audio track, go to Track > New Audio Track, or use the keyboard shortcut Option + Command + A.
b. To add a new software instrument track, go to Track > New Software Instrument Track, or use the keyboard shortcut Option + Command + S.
2. Configuring Track Settings and Preferences, such as Input Monitoring and Record Enable
a. In the Inspector, set the input and output routing for each track according to your audio interface and desired signal flow.
b. Enable input monitoring by clicking the “I” button on the track header or in the Inspector.
c. Enable record-ready mode by clicking the “R” button on the track header or in the Inspector.
3. Selecting Virtual Instruments and Patches from the Library
a. With a software instrument track selected, open the Library (Y) to browse and select virtual instruments, patches, and presets.
b. Click on a category to see available instrument types, and click on an instrument to load it onto the selected track.
4. Using Track Stacks to Organize and Manage Multiple Tracks
a. Select multiple tracks by holding Shift and clicking on each track you want to include in the stack.
b. Right-click (or Control + click) on the selected tracks and choose “Create Track Stack” from the context menu.
c. Choose either a “Folder Stack” (for organization) or a “Summing Stack” (for organization and routing to a bus) based on your needs.
d. Rename and color-code the track stack to help you identify it in your project.
